Berbere Spice Blend No.11 - The backbone of Ethiopian Cuisine, a complex flavour that is very versatile. It uses many spices to make this blend. Its many layers of flavour make for a complex aromatic mix that is unique.
As a BBQ rub it is certainly very different and it works well. Serve it with a simple bean salad or lentils.
Its earthy aromatic flavours were designed for slow cooking and as such we decided to do a recipe that makes an easy and quick stew that tastes fantastic. It will give you a good idea of how wonderful this blend works if you decided to slow cook a bigger piece of meat and allow the flavours to develop even more.
Ingredients: Chilli, Celery Salt, Black Pepper, Cumin, Coriander, Fenugreek, Cloves, Allspice, Ajwain, Ginger, Cardamom, Nutmeg.
